Just to clarify: the water seen in the picture is hot (of course gradually cooling down as it flows)?

I think the pools next to the river (the greenish ones) is where the water is hot, not the river itself.

I've been to different hot springs in and around Colorado. Some are swimming pools with warm water. Some are muddy (and smelly) holes in the ground. Some are absolutely lovely. But yeah, the temperature is naturally hot! I think they're usually by a river, and people seem to have isolated/mixed the hot part with the cool river just enough to give a human-friendly temperature.

Neither did I! But I've been to enough springs to know that the river itself would make no sense so had to give a second look
