The maga civil war has begun…? Hopefully.

[–] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 4 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

It will be short lived. They’d still vote for him. Nothing unites them more than their hatred, desire to piss off the libs, and inflict pain on those they disagree with.

[–] turtlesareneat@discuss.online 5 points 7 hours ago (3 children)

Nothing lasts forever especially in today's trend-swinging world. Just like skinny jeans eventually found their way to the back of the closet, Trump WILL wear off and people will start flipping.

I don't know when that will occur but I am certain it will, just out of basic consumer indoctrination. Heels to flats to heels to flats.

I notice all the Trumpers who found it fun to poke me during the first term are silent now, as if they don't want the subject brought up anymore.

[–] jordanlund@lemmy.world 1 points 32 minutes ago

Followed by "Well I don't know whoever voted for him! I sure didn't!" (red hat ashes in the trashcan).

[–] capital_sniff@lemmy.world 1 points 55 minutes ago

I just think that once the Trump regime is finished we should all make sure that the people we know that supported him never forget that they supported Trump. I mean last time a bunch of asshats voted for Bush Jr. and then went on to pretend they didn't know the guy.

[–] WanderWisley@lemmy.world 2 points 6 hours ago

I do believe the same as well. I live in a small rural town with a lot of Trump supporters. Since this Epstein thing has been handled so poorly.A lot of the people who support him have been very quiet. There are a few houses that have a lot of Trump flags and signs all over their house. Most have been replaced with just American flags. But we are still over a year away from midterms so a lot could change either good or bad and with the election still three years awayI am almost certain Trump will still attempt to run for a 3rd term and we will see what his supporters see and feel about that.

Furor?

Fervour maybe?

[–] ExLisper@lemmy.curiana.net 7 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

I wonder how much of this is just democratic troll farms trying to encourage actual MAGA to abandon Trump.

[–] jordanlund@lemmy.world 4 points 11 hours ago

It's going to be really interesting to see how it plays out with the Rupert Murdoch lawsuit...

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 5 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

Will this finally lead to Trump being impeached?

[–] jordanlund@lemmy.world 2 points 19 hours ago

Not as long as Republicans control the House and Senate.

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@piefed.world 133 points 2 days ago (4 children)

We've all seen these temper tantrums before but MAGA always falls back into line.

[–] don@lemmy.ca 63 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Yeah, I don’t really expect them to functionally change. When you’re that far down the cult pipeline, very little can be done.

[–] kmartburrito@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago

They'll all buy new hats and keep giving this shit bag money, watch.

[–] DoGeeseSeeGod@lemmy.blahaj.zone 33 points 2 days ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Idk I know I'm being hopeful thinking they might actually stop taking his every word as gospel. Then again this is the first time I've seen his supporters burn his fucking hate hats

[–] DrDeadCrash@programming.dev 11 points 1 day ago (1 children)

hate hats

You dropped a word, here you go.

[–] BassTurd@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago

I think you're right, but through hate and bigotry, they did fuck over bud light.

[–] ExLisper@lemmy.curiana.net 5 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Trump isn't running again anyway and according to the polls republicans are doing just fine before the midterms. Not because people like their policy but because democrats have none.

This is a cult purge, they'll be forming the parallel of the SS with their most loyal followers.

[–] Oyml77@lemmy.today 87 points 2 days ago

The correct response to anything from any Republicunt from now until 2028 is "OK, but what about the release of the Epstein files?" Never ever let them forget it.

Trump fucked kids with Epstein and everyone knows it. Everyone else who fucked kids with Epstein needs to be held accountable. I don't care what party any of them belong to, they need to be out of society. Every last fucker who is covering this shit up is an enabler and also needs to be accountable.

Am I seriously the only one that understands that this doesn’t matter? His entire base of useful idiots could turn on him tomorrow. It won’t make a difference. They did for him what he needed them to do.

He’s is installed, embedded, entrenched and like all plagues, seemingly untouchable.

[–] explodicle@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

His base of idiots mattered when they stormed the Capitol. Then again when one missed by a couple inches.

[–] WrenFeathers@lemmy.world 3 points 14 hours ago* (last edited 12 hours ago)

His base of idiots mattered when they stormed the Capitol.

To him? No, they didn’t.

Then again when one missed by a couple inches

I all but guarantee that entire thing was setup. Only I’d wager that the patsy shooter was promised a different outcome- which also illustrates the fact that he too- didn’t matter.

I’d bet the farm that trumpster-fire has zero fucks to give about what anyone thinks about him or what he does. The only thing we have that says otherwise, is the media, and they’re about as trustworthy as he is considering their profit margin is directly reliant on Trump-related sensationalism.

He’s embedded. Plain as. There’s nothing his base can say or do that would make him lose a minute of sleep.

[–] wise_pancake@lemmy.ca 79 points 2 days ago (3 children)

I’m so tempted to start a store that sells green or orange hats that say “Release the Epstein Files”

[–] Tolookah@discuss.tchncs.de 51 points 2 days ago (4 children)

How about "release the files" so it's reusable

[–] raynethackery@lemmy.world 22 points 2 days ago

Return the slab.

[–] PancakesCantKillMe@lemmy.world 13 points 2 days ago (1 children)

"Release the files and shackle the 'philes!"

When Luigi gets released from prison and becomes the Democratic nominee in 2036, we need green hats that say "Make oligarchs afraid again".

[–] Deceptichum@quokk.au 8 points 2 days ago

Put it in the x-files font to play to their conspiratorial nature.

I hope the fumes are unpleasant.

[–] arin@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

They have been breathing leaded gasoline fumes long enough to end up here 🤷‍♂️

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 25 points 2 days ago

Hmmm, saying one thing and doing another. Does that sound like republicans to you?

Still, House Republicans voted twice this week to block Democratic attempts to force the public release of all Epstein files within 30 days, with only one Republican, Ralph Norman of South Carolina, voting in favor.

The controversy deepened on Wednesday evening after news that the federal prosecutor Maurene Comey, daughter of former FBI director James Comey, who worked on the criminal cases of both Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, had been fired. The justice department provided no specific reason for her dismissal.

[–] No1@aussie.zone 15 points 1 day ago

Is burning red MAGA hats how they make the black MAGA hats?

[–] MushuChupacabra@lemmy.world 23 points 2 days ago

Perhaps they're not woke, but at least they're waking up about how much Trump despises them.

[–] MangioneDontMiss@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 day ago

this won't even make a dent in his support.

[–] atomicbocks@sh.itjust.works 12 points 1 day ago

This reminds me of when the Beatles pissed people off and people smashed their Beatles records and then the Beatles weren’t popular anymore…

Then again they didn’t double down on being more popular than Jesus so I guess we shall see.

[–] xc2215x@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago

So here it begins.
