I already wrote in another comment, but it's to do dynamic things, like a table of contents generated automatically from the headings that are clickable to go to the chapter, it also highlights the current chapter. And since I'm creating a growth story, I have a sidebar that keeps track of the size/description of different body parts in the story

I put NSFW because of the word smut, and also that it could lead to more NSFW conversation in the comments, like someone mentioned some porn games. I think adding the NSFW tag just in case is not a bad thing

What advantages would it have over using an HTML file with CSS and JS in it? One of the advantages of those is that I can pretty much do what I want, as long as I have the knowledge of how to code it

Eh, I think I'll stick to what I'm doing. An HTML file with everything embedded has the advantage of being easily shareable and pretty much anyone can read it as long as they have a browser

Oh I love those games!! But it's already hard enough to write a single story, so a story with choices and game mechanics integrated would be pretty hard for me. I'm a programmer mainly, not a writer, but I felt like there was not enough smut of the kind I liked online, so I'm currently writing one that has all my main kinks hehe

Does it have support for Javascript files? I did try to look into it before, but I had trouble finding what I could use to create an EPUB from my HTML file, and when I did it only took the HTML and CSS, not JS
