Oh, no. It wasn't a camera trick; projectiles actually fly in 3D and can miss, units actually move up real hills and mountains and down onto lakebeds (as opposed to fake RA1, RA2, and Tiberian Sun ones), etc. Never mind, then!

You do mention Total Annihilation, the first 3D RTS, right?

Now this seems like it'd be more up my jam than Balatro!

lol you have nothing to apologize for; nothing's late if the topic wasn't urgent :)

Fascinating, I never thought that kind of thing could exist... Does the group use VRChat?

I never knew of any non-RTS Dune games until now.

Wasn't that basically just a precursor to the real-time editing that Google Docs, etc. got?

TROM Search via https://search.trom.tf/?q=%25s will cycle through instances. Sometimes the results suck but you can simply rerun your query. This is what I currently use for everything by default.

Wow, I never heard about this malware trend. I guess this kind of crap will only increase with AI's help...

I had a user do that with video editing software... seriously, what could go wrong? Ransomware. Literally ransomware.

What app was that? I'm guessing the software was not FOSS.

It has classics from Backgammon (and its multiplayer equivalent, Ludo) to Terraforming Mars and up to modern titles released this year. Many are totally free to play with just an account. Some are paywalled behind premium access, but you only need one person at the table with a premium subscription to start the game, and then everyone else can participate for free.

You can play in real time with people or turn-based across days at a dozen different virtual tables simultaneously (it notifies you, either by email or other settings, whenever it's your turn).

It handholds you through legal moves, so you can use the platform to learn new games. Some of my in-person board game purchases came from games I learned here online!
