Preface: I personally don't care if it's legal or not, I'm gonna do it anyway. But, I wanted to pose the question here to people who are smarter than me to get your opinions. Plus, my partner is completely anti-piracy so I can only enjoy it by myself and it makes me kind of sad to do so. So it'd be nice to give them a reason to consider it. Also also, I am not knowledgeable enough to even know if this is a stupid question, so please be kind.

I saw an old post/comment chain that the stremio + rd + torrentio combo is "technically" legal in the states due to some workaround about distributing vs consuming. You're also not downloading anything or torrenting anything. I know that on their own, Stremio and RD are perfectly legit sites. But adding Torrentio into the mix is where it gets the spicy flavor. Now that some years have passed and that post might be outdated, what are your thoughts now? Is there a case to be made in favor of this being legal?

Not sure if this the right place to ask but since I love sailing the high seas, maybe you guys would know. A preface before the question: I am of the mindset that others' reasons to pirate are their own and any discourse on supporting creators is not productive and financial support should be left to the individual's own devices and morals. It's not for me to judge, blah blah blah.

Anyway, I was thinking about South Park and am wondering how their shift to Paramount+ has been. I wonder if they're making any good profit since not a lot of people have subcriptions and especially so after the whole Colbert thing.

It's been suggested here and there on this sub that a good way to financially support creators, if a pirate wants to do so, is donating directly do them. Does anybody know of a way to do this with bigger creators? If South Park was in any danger of being cancelled due to funding, I was considering this option since I'll never give my money to a streaming service again. Any ideas?

Long story short here: I tried making Linux my main OS on my PC. I had it dual booted with Win 11 on a separate SSD. Win 11 was going to be solely for work purposes since it was crucial.

However I noticed that I had begun to migrate slowly back to Win 11 because I'm a gamer and Linux just doesn't get along with my graphics card, so games are almost impossible to play well.

I've succumbed to the idea that my PC will just solely run on Win 11. (I do use Linux on a laptop tho). So I got some debloat tools to shut off most of Microsoft's annoying spy shit and manually uninstalled the rest like Cortana. I also have pihole running on my raspi5 so my PC is connected to that, plus I use ProtonVPN. I use Firefox with plugins like ublock, privacy badger, etc.

I want to try to make Windows as private and away from Microsoft's prying eyes as much as possible. Got any other recommendations?

What makes y'all torrent instead of DDL? I read in the megathread that DDL is less likely to get you caught, but a lot of people on here seem to really enjoy torrenting and I must be completely clueless as to why. I'd like to have your insights

I'm so tired of battlepasses but some games have such cool skins that I do not want to pay for. Is there a way to pirate stuff like that?
