I agree with your sentiment, but Elon literally paid for voters to come out, and I guess it was somehow legal.
Trump is letting countries buy Russian oil again because he attacked Iran.
The topics aren't as varied here, reddit pretty much has a subreddit for any niche community you can imagine.
I like the community more here though. People are generally supportive and there seem to be fewer unrestrained jerks.

He will try anything to either stop or rig the elections. The Democrats taking the house would be an effective end to his presidency/ reign of terror -- as long as they aren't all aipac shills.
Seems logical that it could have been intentional. The US/Trump wants an all out war in order to cancel elections and seize more power.
He does a little oopsie and kills a bunch of innocent children; they get pissed off, attack the US directly, and then he has a war that both populations want. Kind of like 9/11, but we are the terrorists this time.
I think if there are boots on the ground, then all bets are off and that scenario might play out -- but who knows?
