The last ~40% is hydro and nuclear?
I don't believe that China makes these investments just because the energy is cheaper nor that Europe does it from the goodness of their hearts. Both parties are well aware that the long-term effects of climate change will be devastating to the lives of their population and economy among other things. It comes down to a balancing act between preventing long-term damage and stimulating short-term growth.

Ukraine has indeed bought (and received for free) a lot of drones and drone tech, but far from all of it. They and Russia are currently the only states in the world with extensive battlefield experience that both sides have translated to modified and new tech. It makes perfect sense that Ukraine wants to sell its tech since they need both the money and foreign production capacity.
That can only happen if we stop giving a shit about impact factors (and remove it from legal hiring requierements in some countries) and when big name PIs stop giving excuses like 'I want my research to be read' as if that wouldn't happen in the journals that are more appropriate for the topic they publish in.
