The Israeli troops have taken control of the British-flagged charity vessel Madleen, which had tried to break a naval blockade of the Gaza Strip. The boat--operated by the pro-Palestinian Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC)--with its crew of 12, including activist Greta Thunberg, is now heading to a port in Israel, officials said on Sunday.

The FCC posted a pre-recorded "SOS" video of Thunberg on X and said, " the volunteers on 'Madleen' have been kidnapped by Israeli forces. Pressure their foreign ministries and help us keep them safe!"

I don't think a doomer mindset is the answer on this.

Putting Greta on the ship was a dare, what happens next we have to wait and see.

I don't disagree that this is likely to be bad. However, I also have to imagine that both Greta Thunberg and the FFC knew going in that this was the most likely outcome.

And they'll send another boat next. They said the next boat will include US American activists.

And they'll keep sending boats until they can break the siege. In the meantime, it forces countries to confront Israel as they kidnap their aid volunteers.

Turkey, for example, already called Israel a terrorist state and demanded release of their national who was on the boat. As more countries have more of their citizens kidnapped by Israel, we could see those countries ship less weapons to Israel, which would force them to cease fire (because Israel absolutely cannot afford this slaughter without foreign support)
