談認同不能忽略那段「中國人認同」曾佔據唯一合法話語與社會上升通行證的歷史背景。它曾是一套制度化生存機制與獲利工具。而且戒嚴體制下，根本沒有其他認同選項。象徵層面上，則不斷被包裝成「文明與高雅」，同時嘲弄、貶低本土語言、文化。
