Why is the general public having to suck up higher electricity prices because of these things? Power companies should just be charging the data centres double or triple the normal rate.
Late stage capitalism is all about putting the cart before the horse
Consumers are the financial driver of everything (especially in a modern service-based economy), but everyone is rushing to bleed the consumer dry to the fullest extent possible. There is no business to be done without consumption, so when consumers are bled dry they can no longer consume and everything fails.
The shortsightedness of capitalists in this process is that they think all will be dandy if they can get enough out of the consumer before the whole process grinds to a halt from people being depression-era destitute
The reality is that if your overall goal is to keep the cart moving, its best not to kill the horse. Going a half mile forward at the expense of the horse means you and your cart will be stuck in the middle of nowhere. The cart being full or empty wont matter once it cant move anymore
Theyre building AI bullshit for consumers and companies that provide services to consumers, but building the AI bullshit will price out consumers (especially if it ever takes real jobs at scale). Who will they market the AI shit to then? The end result is that it will all be for nothing and everyone loses
They want people to be depression era destitute so they can buy up everything for cheap.
trust me, bro.
