How to switch default search engine to Qwant? (Or any other engine that isnt included as default) (piefed.social)

I have already downloaded it as an extension, it is simply not allowing me to set it as default. It shows me the button, but does not work when toggled.

You can add easy any search engine, most simply with an right click on the corresponding search bar, selecting Set as seach engine from the context menu. After this go to the setting of the search engines and mark the search engine as default.
