Adding to that, racing games from my experience shift gears automatically, so the hand OP would use for shifting them would be mostly free.
Also makes me think, maybe the pedals could be configured as the motion keys in shooter games? Mouse could steer the character left and right, while pedals would move ahead and back. Just dunno how many keyboard keys OP would need to be creative with.
And to the OP, hope you can recover fully! 💪
I simrace competitively, autogears would destroy my MMR 🤣
Though lack of practice would do that too.
Realistically, I won't have fun doing it that way.
Adding to this. I play racing games daily and drift fine with automatic gears and only 1 hand.
