Can you run Linux on your phone? What are the technical obstacles to be overcome, which projects are working on them and with what funding?

I must say, I haven't heard of Maemo or Mobian, but I will look into that one. So far the only non Pixel phone I can get anything to work on is maybe a Samsung Galaxy Tab A tablet I have... but it was complicated. I think it was LineageOS.

If I could get Mobian on my Galaxy A14...
