Since you have to install the games anyway, they can be delivered on multiple discs. Horizon Forbidden West for example had multiple discs.

My old ass was thinking "Final Fantasy used to come on 4 discs..."

I have had at least one game where the disk was just a Steam download key, so technically a physical disk (for your collection!) but also all the disadvantages of digital distribution.

Came here to say this.

It isn't the disc that's important, it's the ownership - the ability to make use of your investment without depending on the manufacturer after the sale.

It feels like almost nothing works without Internet connection anymore..
