Figured this would be worth a shot!

I'm not sure it was actually European but I think so. Or was on the same physical format as Tintin and Lucky Luke for instance.

I have a faint feeling that the art style was a bit more realistc and gave me a more serious feel.

It was about a couple exploring some ancient Egyptian city and finding some sort of magical artifact that triggered a pyramid shaped force field that erased everything it touched.

I read this during the early nineties I think so I don't remember many details about it sadly.

Anyone have a clue what it might've been?

Looks like the two Le faucon de Mû books are uploaded to Anna's Archive, so you can check them out and see...

Yeah, it's definitely the right one, crazy.. been thinking about this one on and off for years.
