no matter how good the argument for socialism, you won't get public support until the media supports it. media is owned by billionaires who are very veryuch pro capitalism

So, how does this apply bakc in time a bit, like in the 1940s? There were massive movements, like in Germany, and obviously Russia before, to kick it off. How did they accrue members and grow?

The media owns a lot of news media. Curiously, some platforms still allow independent media to leak though.

Hence, we know what the 2014 Ferguson Unrest looked like, or the 2020 George Floyd protests, or the current crisis in Gaza.

They're trying to stop the signal, obfuscate it in disinformation and slop, but they haven't stopped the whole signal yet.
