I typically go with single player games. Niche stuff casuals rarely play. It's not a flex or anything, I just a "distinct" taste in gaming

When people ask me about music I just say “I don’t really listen to much music”

I know they’re trying to develop a conception or me, I recognize that they’re trying to get an idea of who I am, trying to start a conversation but I also know they will not draw any meaningful information from the answers I could give. Not because what i like is “too sophisticated and they just wouldn’t get it” but because my taste is completely incoherent. My taste is obscure and trash, and each listened facet is tonally dissonant from the last.

I have to find out what genre they are into and think of what I like ajacent to that.

Better than acting like you're a better person because you listen to some math rock group.

Idk what it means to have trash tastes, id like it if someone said that and then named the stuff they liked and I conformed it was trash lol. Id find it really endearing.

I have really eclectic tastes too, and I like my own taste in music, but I've also found a lot of people don't really like some of the music I get really into. I can't tolerate like 90% of popular music from the last 20 years or so, but I still like a lot of indie and experimental stuff.

I don't believe there's such a thing as bad taste in music. If you enjoy a certain type of music, then that's the right music for you. But there does tend to be a big divide between what musicians and non musicians listen to and to what music afficianados and casual listeners listen to. Musicians and music afficianados can have lots of crossover, but casual listeners tend to have little crossover with the other 2 groups.

just get into 70s prog or 80s hair metal that’s way cooler than “not being into music”. Cool t shirts n all that.

I’m not a musician really at all but I’m a huge music listener of a lot of genres and the “don’t like music” people are the worst ever. No offense

Just name off a few sub-sub-subgenres they don't know and watch their eyes glaze over.
