Ever since we adopted our cat, she always has peed on the edge of the litterbox. This was ongoing for 6 years. On a whim, I bought finer litter and she stopped this behaviour immediately. Just thought I’d share.

Lol, our cat also scratches the walls, entrance and roof of the litter box instead of the actual litter. She will do this for up to five minutes, and then get upset that it didn't work. Then we got a kitten who started out digging like normal but after observing her older sibling, she now also scratches the walls and roof of the litter box, because kittens learn from older cats how to cat. Which is great, unless the older cat is a total moron, lol.
