change my mind

Challenge accepted.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring was initially published in 1954 . Teletubbies's first episode, Ned's Good Bike, was first aired in 1997. Therefore, LOTR could not have been a Teletubbies knockoff, because LOTR was first. It is, then, reasonable to assume that Teletubbies is a LOTR knockoff.

Time travel was invented in 2137, since then it has widely been accepted among academics that linear progression of standard time is not sufficient to determine the context with which an event takes place.

While this may be true, those same academics have also agreed that linear progression must be employed until the origination date of the request is after 4.7.2137 (or, simply, Post Time Travel / PTT). Therefore, since the origination date is BTT (Before Time Travel), we must use (and, thus, assume) linear progression.

Teletubbies is a great show, so I can see how LOTR would take inspiration from them.

Well, LOTR books existed before the teletubbies. So I think it's the other way around.

Someone accidentally mistook a full strip of LSD as one dose just after he finished reading the books, and saw this weird twisted form of what was fresh in his memory, with weird shapes and bright colors, and got the idea to recreate what he saw on film. Others mistook it as a toddler program.

I think my hypothesis is much more likely.

What are the Hobbits wearing? When did Sam ever get a red cloak like that?

[–] wieson@feddit.org 1 points 5 days ago (1 children)

At the end when they return to the shire as lords and heroes, but the shirefolk just look at them weird

Hmm I don't remember Sam getting a red cloak though.

They should sue this Tolkien fellow.

it's completely different. In Teletubbies, Tinky Winky was gay but in LOTR they're all gay.

Also the sun baby in Teletubbies was way more malevolent than Sauron.

Recognizing that gay people exist is homophobia to you? I think you need to chill out a little.

Edit: just noticed you're a "fan" of mine, just going through my comments and attacking me where ever you can on anything you can. Yeah, you really do need to calm down.

Change your mind? Well LOTR predates teletubies by several decades.

[–] ruuster13@lemmy.zip 7 points 1 week ago

Lala wouldn't have gotten far without his Tinky-Winky.
