As an engineer, I don't see the problem. There are no more digits after the five.

[–] prime_number_314159@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I beg to differ. Everyone knows there's a 9 next.

[–] WhiskyTangoFoxtrot@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yeah. If you leave out the 9 then the 5 becomes a 6.

I can follow that train of thought.

If the comic world surface space is finite, wouldn't PI already take every possible space in it, and more? Makes this whole thing kinda irrational.

(I'll show myself out)

What an irrational decision.

[–] Septimaeus@infosec.pub 2 points 1 day ago

Yeah missed opportunity to work in a deeper fundamental concept. Application to door funnies denied!

[–] Lushed_Lungfish@lemmy.ca 7 points 1 day ago

How irrational of her.

Immediate flashbacks to an old maths classroom that had a printed copy of this on the door

I'm going to pronounce 6 as Sharon from now on.

Is 6 going to regret this at the 13th, 29th, 39th, 47th, 56th, 66th, 96th, 99th, ... digit after the decimal?

[–] arcine@jlai.lu 2 points 1 day ago

Sharon's society is probably built to handle this exact problem, since the overwhelming majority of numbers are irrational.

We should instead worry that Sharon's society is kinder to the disabled than ours, that is likely what they would consider her to be...

should have been in more of a hurry because 789
