Showerthoughts

A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The most popular seem to be lighthearted clever little truths, hidden in daily life.

Here are some examples to inspire your own showerthoughts:

Rules

  1. All posts must be showerthoughts
  2. The entire showerthought must be in the title
  3. No politics
    • If your topic is in a grey area, please phrase it to emphasize the fascinating aspects, not the dramatic aspects. You can do this by avoiding overly politicized terms such as "capitalism" and "communism". If you must make comparisons, you can say something is different without saying something is better/worse.
    • A good place for politics is c/politicaldiscussion
  4. Posts must be original/unique
  5. Adhere to Lemmy's Code of Conduct and the TOS

If you made it this far, showerthoughts is accepting new mods. This community is generally tame so its not a lot of work, but having a few more mods would help reports get addressed a little sooner.

Whats it like to be a mod? Reports just show up as messages in your Lemmy inbox, and if a different mod has already addressed the report, the message goes away and you never worry about it.

Also just as possible nobody believes her bullshit cause most of us have had parents like that. Don't let it defeat you.

I'm confused.

Are you saying that she has a good point? What's the goal of sharing this? Are you say that you are not a useless piece of shit and a burden? Are we witnessing you have an epiphany?

Idk I just like to post shit online whenever I get yelled at and feel depressed so I can vent frustrations...

Sometimes it comes out non-coherent...

Fair enough

By all means, tell us nothing about your side of the story. That will surely help.

Nothing really matters, we're all just gonna die

[–] MagicShel@lemmy.zip 5 points 2 weeks ago

Do you think anything would matter if we were immortal, or does dying not actually have anything to do with it?

Nothing really matters, anyone can see.

Happens but there are occasions where ppl disagree with op. Not very common but normally op is very misguided or just an idiot. I got into a discussion where another person knew based on the verbiage the guy was wrong but we only knew for sure a year later when his wife posted her side.

There's no sides.

It's just a matter of what you did that was out of line, and what she did that was out of line. The amount of useless pieces of shit on this earth is probably less than 3% and I have a hard time believing you're one of them.

The things you said about your mom clearly indicate she stepped over the line quite a few times and you are absolutely right to feel misunderstood and sometimes attacked.

If she posted here she would probably also indicate that there's a few times where you treated her wrong.

But she's your mom, she should know better, and also if you're fighting a lot things happen, and people do regrettable things. As long as you question whether you did the right thing, you're fine and you probably have done well.

What I'm trying to say is it doesn't matter what she thinks, t doesn't make your feelings less valid.
