This has strong "Corruption is only bad if I am not involved." vibes.
The LPC resents your implication they would ever do the sorts of things that they are currently doing.
In the midst of a political atmosphere with so many attacks on DEI, using DEI as an excuse for a basic unethical practice of giving a job to an unqualified friend is doing the right wing's work for them. Is she trying to undermine the objective? Just dumb.
That was my first thought as well. Label corruption as DEI to try to use it as a get out of jail free card.

Are Deputy Ministers politically appointed? I thought they were civil servants.
Rereading the story, I'm not sure where ethics were broken here. Seems like a waste of news space Imo.
Perhaps you'd like to explain to everyone, in your own words, how you've come to the conclusion that the ethics commissioner is wrong here?
