Apparently, in The Hobbit, Gollum is described as turning out his pockets, and in LotR, he's described as having ragged garments.
If the movie can invent a loincloth, then we in the audience can decide it's a magic loincloth that never reveals anything from any angle.
No magic needed. It's a normal loincloth, where it's one strip of cloth. The middle part holds your junk and the flaps are just the loose ends hanging over the belt.
That's how a loincloth works!?
