The War on History is a War on Democracy

I was reading this recently as part of this open history course by Timothy Snyder called Hitler and Stalin Today.

Seems relevant, the regime is trying to dictate the past and install memory censorship.

The really obvious question here is "Why should the president be the final arbiter of what is or isn't accurate history?"
