Are there any FOSS video editors out there you guys would recommend?

I'm currently using the Fossify Gallery but this doesn't have a built in video editor to simply change the rotation or shorten the video. It can be something really bare bones too.

For Android, I ran into this same thing yesterday and landed on LibreCuts on F-Droid which looks to have just released this past Friday.

It worked perfectly for trimming a video clip and has the perfect amount of tools for what I expect to do farther down the road.

Been looking for just a basic trim and export android app for a while and nothing was quite that good. This app is a great shout!

Kdenlive is worth a try for desktop usage. Might be a little overpowered for mobile.

Does it have to be Android? If so, I use Open Video Editor.

But if not, Kdenlive is my go-to for video editing. Does it all.

Kdenlive is the top-ranked FOSS video editor on AlternativeTo.

I agree with that ranking, having also tried 5 or 6 of the other entries on the list.

Thanks to everyone, my questions been answered.

Thanks to @communism@lemmy.ml for the Open Video Editor suggestion, it really has all I need.

To those who mentioned Kdenlive, thanks for commenting as well. I actually already use that on my desktop but was specifically searching for something for my phone. Sorry for the confusion, I should've clarified that in the post.

Sounds implied to be asking about Android. Open Video Editor should be plenty enough. I barely use it but yeah for basic stuff.
