My favorite 1980's joke.
In the 1980's America's favorite musician was Madonna, who couldn't sing.
The top movie star was Ahnold, who couldn't act
And the top politician was Reagan, who couldn't think
while Madonna wasn't as technically proficient as many of her peers she managed to develop a distinct identity that made up any deficiencies she had in the singing department. I.e. nicked Cyndi Lauper's style like a motherfucker and went full controversy makes cash until the wheels came off and she needed a reinvention.
Meh, falls apart with Madonna. No one (except teenagers), thought she was all that.
The only person who beat Madonna in the 1980's was Michael Jackson.
