Quit ordering food.

I haven’t had anything that bad, but stopped using them due to drivers accepting orders then driving a long way out of the way then getting to me an hour late

My guess is they are accepting orders on multiple apps then spending their sweet ass time picking up from multiple locations before delivering

They don’t have real support anymore either, not worth the money

Sounds like they're securing orders. Either they don't want someone else snagging it or the want security of having at least 1 order

Yeah not really going to be convinced these people are just doing what they need to when it is against the rules

They are just helping kill their own money stream for short term gains

Yeah can't expect everyone to be rational actors

I had that happen. App said it'd be about 30 minutes for delivery. 2 hours later and a lot of chatting with "support" the driver finally came with a cold and wrong order. That was the last time I used a delivery app. We used to have some decent ones, but as with everything else it has turned to shit. Now it's easier, faster and cheaper to just pick it up myself.

I had a guy get lost driving from half a block down on the same street. Yes, it was lazy of me not to go get it myself but still ridiculous that he got lost.

Many many reasons why I do not use those services anymore.

Credit card chargeback is the solution

Only give enough information to sufficiently answer the question asked. In this case, “No, I didn’t receive my food,” is all that was needed. Anything more gives them an opportunity to screw you.

Throwback to the time Uber Eats left my food at a completely different house in my neighborhood. Walked a few cul-de-sac blocks over to the address and it was gone. Asked for a refund and they told me it was successfully delivered so no refund for me.

Haven't ordered again since. Fuck them.

I generally hate using food taxi services to begin with, but sometimes I don't have any other option.

Oh look, it’s reason 5,276 I don’t use those companies.

We really should be making open source version oh good delivery apps so people can do gigs outside of Uber and door dash

I gave up on those food delivery services a long time ago. Out of the three times I tried it, I recieved a meal once.

You pay extra for the art of customized delivery service.

[–] toiletobserver@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago

Seems easy enough to dispute the charge

Ah I see they chose the Jackson Pollock delivery experience… very nice.
