About this community and how I post the comics… Many moons ago, I would ask my Dad to save the newspaper for me everyday so I could read my favorite comic strips. Of course these days you can read your favorite comics online instead of a newspaper, but I love the nostalgia of reading the daily comics. Anyway, one of my favorite current comics is Cyanide and Happiness and I will be posting the daily release from their website (https://explosm.net/) and a an extra or two randoms.

"Cutting (someone) down (to size)" is a phrase meaning to set out to reduce someone's ego, usually by physically overpowering them or ferociously insulting them, as young George does here.

There's a famous fake story about George Washington (getting a hatchet as a gift maybe?) and cutting down a cherry tree in excitement as a kid. He then confesses to his father and it's supposed to have some message about honesty or something

That explains why he's small. I forgot he was a child in that story. I understand he was a intimidating adult.

Thanks πŸ‘ I still don't get the link with the attitude but I guess it's just C&H depicting a punk

I think the joke is that it's supposed to be a story about honestly winning out against fear/shame but in this depiction, he's just happy to confess because fuck yo tree

The tree is clearly not chopped down in the last panel
