So from what we can find in game, I don't really see why Lace is the favourite child of granny while Phantom was all but banished. I think Phantom is the older sibling, hinted at by the rugged and dirty clothes instead of Laces perfect white attire. So is it just that? Lace is the new favourite toy till the next one would have been made?
Contrasting that are grandmas action in Act 3, they are a strong point that she genuinely cared for Lace. So I find it strange that she just abandoned one child for the other. If she really only cared about ANY of her own children caring for her, as revealed in the dream dialogue, she should have been happy after Phantoms creation, no?
Anyone got some good ideas about that?
