It says in the docs:

"## Accessibility

For users with accessibility needs who cannot use hand gestures to complete the challenge, reCAPTCHA continues to provide visual and audio challenges, and develop more accessible and secure alternatives."

So it seems you can just do a different task if you don't want to do the hand thing anyway.

Edit: obligatory F google still of course.

So if I understand this scheme right, a standard 6 pack of cans are going to cost £1.20 more and I am going to have to collect them and store them separately to the other 4 separated rubbish categories I already have.

Then lug them all to a collection point to get the deposit back instead of placing them in my recycling that I already pay the council to collect every (other) week anyway.

Great, just great, how convenient.

Honestly oats are one of my favorite foods though, I have binge eaten massive quantities of them before. I think I may have been a horse in a former life.

Anyone who agrees to participate in the study probably already wants to be restricted, as they may feel social media negatively affects them, and want more help restricting it than their willpower alone. Then they will probably feel positive about the outcome.

Forcibly restricting unwilling kids will produce different outcomes that this study doesn't seem to investigate (it would be unethical to force participation on kids who don't want to participate in a study).

They will then try to generalise the positive outcome onto all kids, even though they didn't study the unwilling ones.

They need to study the effects of different content delivery algorithims not just a blanket 'social media' IMO.

Oh geez I just went and disconnected my TV from WiFi, I dunno why I had it connected in the first place, I use a separate box thingy for all the services. I'm getting so sick of constantly being perceived and surveilled by stuff all around me.

The article title is clickbaity. It doesn't 'get rid of' the start menu and explorer. It just makes the processes completely hang so you can't open any applications, can't open the menu and can't open task manager to see wtf is going on. You also can't access the shutdown function so you have to manually power off.

This happened to me as I was setting up a Windows 11 / Linux dual boot system yesterday, and the Windows side was behaving as described in the article.

I gave up and just installed Linux alone in the end.

Because that's the alternative universe where people are competent and think things through for more than 2 seconds before they do things.
