I’m curious as to why you don’t want to see cm0002’s posts

I agree that those are terrible programs to have preinstalled but so is Steam

Apple stopped pushing security updates for my MacBook.
Now I can never use anything but Linux.

Hello monovergent
Amazing essay you have here, thank you!

Btw, what year would you guess was the start of Alphanumerical code usage? That is if there isn’t already a list of supported devices in the depths of the internet 😅

I plan on installing Arch on the ROG Ally X because:
1: I need it as my daily driver.
2: Don’t want the OS to be immutable.
3: Don’t want a “handheld OS” with Steam preinstalled (Steam is a privacy nightmare and I plan on at least using it within a sandbox).

Is there anything I should know / do before the installation or any tips anyone has for better compatibility? Or anyone who’s gone through the process whom I can learn a thing or two from.

Thank you in advance <3

From what I can see online the key is actually called the super key, but for some reason KDE Plasma calls it Meta on my device
Might be because I’m on a MacBook

KDE turns on do not disturb mode when a program is in full screen mode by default.

You can test this by binding DnD to a button (preferable Meta key + unused letter like F), opening a program in full screen mode and toggling DnD.

This feature can be disabled in settings.

I know my answer is not what you’re looking for but the other two comments should suffice so

Consider IPv6 if possible

Not sure if it’s even related but the text under each colour pair from left to right says:
Population, Murder victims, Murder suspects.
With orange resembling black people and blue resembling white.

Really? All Linux installations worked just fine on my 2017 Air
Perhaps yours is an older model?
