i'm glad they took the opportunity to establish that they are actually the most moral army

i'm starting to think that these people basically don't "live in a society" as it were. there are supposed to be social forces that help cure this particular kind of mental illness, and they've managed to insulate themselves from all of them. so they can sense that they're deeply upset, but they also can't really do any self-reflection at all, don't know enough about society to actually have any kind of reasonable takes about it.
