Da wäre es vielleicht gut, vorab die Communitys-Beschreibung zu checken bzw. vielleicht auch die Mods direkt vorab anzufragen.

Von denen, die ich moderiere und die zum Teil passend sein könnten, kann, wenn es gut passt und sich im Rahmen hält, z.B. zu #FOSS gerne in @foss_de bzw. zu #Datenschutz gerne in @datenschutz gepostet werden.

Es gibt aber schon ein paar Fallstricke: bspw. gibt es (selten) Communitys, die gar keine Posts von "außen" bzw. von normalen Usern zulassen. Die Erfahrung hatte ich bspw. mit discuss.tchncs.de/c/privatspha… gemacht, dass die Posts nicht ankamen, ohne dass ich wusste warum. Ich hatte dann beim Mod nachgefragt und der hat es dann in der Profilbeschreibung ergänzt, dass es in dieser Community nicht möglich ist.

Auch gibt es vereinzelt Lemmy-User (und vielleicht auch Mods?), die nichts mit dem Fediverse zu tun haben wollen und anscheinend allergisch auf Hashtags oder Emojis u.ä., was sie von Reddit wohl nicht gewohnt sind, reagieren. Denen wäre das wahrscheinlich in "ihrer" Community dann nicht recht.

@JustOneMoreCat If all accounts use Lemmy, all images are also federated. But in the communication between Lemmy and the rest of the Fediverse there are still some restrictions regarding pictures in replies.
A #Friendica forum would probably be more suitable.

@gigachad Yes, Lemmy really is a kind of special case in the Fediverse. From Lemmy, you can only post or comment in threads that are in groups (i.e. Lemmy, Piefed, mbin, Friendica groups) and can't follow individual accounts.
Of the others, groups are the exception, while Lemmy specialises in them. In this respect, Lemmy can do less here, but it is more clearly structured.

German Friendica instances: I can recommend anonsys.net (the instance I am writing from) by @tux and loma.ml by @feb

@caos Wenn man "Social Media Post + "Forum Discussions" auswählt, werden Mastodon, #Misskey und andere Microblogging-Dienste empfohlen, aber auch #Lemmy. Jedoch nicht mbin, was ja eigentlich genau diese Kombination bietet, und auch nicht #Friendica, was Micro-/Macroblogging kann, aber auch Foren/Gruppen bietet und mit beiden Richtungen auch am besten föderiert.

Ist also vielleicht ein bisschen unterkomplex, aber schön gemacht und eine gute neue Anlaufstelle für Interessierte.

@VeSpectagles I wouldn't make myself dependent on whether the *key instance is by the same admins as the lemmy instance. The *key softwares are generally recommended if you want a lot of functions and a modern interface. I particularly like the Antennas / News Pickers, with which the content can be structured very well according to your own search terms (a kind of topic-specific timelines). The interaction with Lemmy also works well.
