I got the reddit block about a week ago, so I've given this place another try (first tried it after the reddit API fiasco). I would like lemmy if it were more active. I mostly used reddit for news headlines, and I haven't found any communities here that are nearly as quick for breaking news and whatnot. I feel like my head has been buried in the ground since leaving Reddit. Still not going back though.

I like how he got banned, exactly proving his point.

I just got here a couple days ago because Reddit makes me log in to browse and I'm not cool with that. And... holy shit. I don't know what this has been about but that guy needs to go outside. You all need to go outside. I need to go outside too. Ultimately, I'm disappointed because I guess I have no place to go after reddit.

Good luck! No huge loss if it doesn't work though, at least in my opinion. I like it for finding and installing software, and bulk upgrading everything at once, and the ability to do it all remotely with relative ease. But it's not as powerful in terms of dependency management and whatnot, coming from POSIX package managers

Meanwhile people mock a fabricated Chinese social credit system that doesn't exist (I know -- I've lived there)

I do miss homebrew now that I’m working on a Windows laptop.
