Moonlighting was interesting because it's almost both. There was romantic tension between Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd throughout the series, but once they acted on it there was no tension remaining at all in the show.

And that was weird because the leads were both in danger still.

On the other hand if they had chosen to not go there, it would've been a betrayal of the audience, because they had built up that sexual tension past the point of 'would they might they'.
