It's interesting because in an interview with the creator he mentions that one of the loose goals with this season was to highlight the positives with technology.

Looking at the first episode, the technology to save the wifes brain is amazing technology! She would be dead without it. The cost is so minimal it's an easy choice.

If course we know how the episode goes, but it is funny that at face value the technology is great, it's what happens next that is the downfall.

Minor spoilers, I'll try not to give too much away.

  • Episode 2, Bête Noire, the episode ends in a positive note, but is more in the weird category in terms of endings.
  • Episode 3, Hotel Reverie, generally ends on a happy note however it has a lot of sad moments within the episode.
  • Episode 5, Eulogy, is probably the saddest episode of the season. It's also arguably the best. The ending I think is a positive one. It's a general theme of loss and closure.
  • Episode 6, USS Callister: Into Infinity, I think of you found the first USS Callister episode to end on a positive note then I would say the same applies here. They both end with a similar feeling.

I haven't played the game and, given the horror genre, I am unlikely to ever play it. The show is also horror, but watching is easier than playing.

Additionally I know in the first season the Nick Offerman episode was a unique standalone, so it isn't a straight replication. It seems like they're trying to adapt it to fit TV instead of just filming a game shot for shot.

I don't mind going out to a theater on occasion, but honestly I usually prefer to watch films at home. I can start them whenever I feel, pause if needed, have plenty of food/drinks, and can invite a friend or two over if they're interested.

I'm still confused by what happened with this film. I knew it was coming out, but I didn't get around to seeing it opening weekend, then by Wednesday of the next week the headlines stated that it was leaving theaters and heading to streaming.

I would have seen it in theaters, but once the streaming was announced I didn't mind waiting another week or two.

I just saw it and enjoyed it.

I feel like it didn't have any time to build momentum, just kicked almost straight to streaming.

In general I agree, unless someone stepped over the line or towards criminal behavior gossip is trashy nonsense. This stuff used to be limited to crappy magazines at the grocery store checkout, now it's "mainstream" front page news (for some).

I think telling people to STFU about is perfectly acceptable.

It was definitely because of the teeth. However it sounds like they've apologized.

I'm confident if she had been on SNL they would have made a joke about her teeth as well, but in that case she would have been in on the joke and they could have laughed together.

I'm not sure about "watching currently" but The Orville last aired in 2022, and hasn't technically been cancelled, and rumors are that the series is in preproduction but... I expect it is over.

It's the Star Trek we've been missing for years. Luckily we have Strange New Worlds now, which was the other Star Trek we were missing, so I think I'll be fine. Still, I appreciated a little Star Trek competition.

What Charlie Brooker should have said: Bête Noire (Chocolate company)

What Charlie Brooker did say: Plaything (Video game critic)

Overall a nice article if you're looking to dig into some behind the scenes from the season.

As apparently the only person who still watches new episodes of The Simpsons, yes, I want Apu back.

If Hank Azaria has chosen to stop voicing him, that's fine, I wouldn't force that upon him but I do think he should continue to voice him.

Let's look at Carl & Doctor Hibbert, previously voiced by Hank Azaria & Harry Shearer.

Carl is now voiced by Alex Desert. It took about a season for Alex to get the voice right, but he does a pretty good Carl voice, I'm glad we still have Carl as a character.

Doctor Hibbert is now voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson. Kevin tried to voice Doctor Hibbert for a few seasons, but he never quite got it right. He now does pretty different voice for Hibbert, one that feels a little more Family Guy. (FWIW I like Family Guy, it just has a different vibe than The Simpsons.) I'm glad we still have Doctor Hibbert, but I'm bummed that the character has changed.

Of the two, which is the better approach? Is it better to mimic or create someone new?

We already know that the second season will be set about 10 months after the first, during one of America’s most dangerous holidays, the Fourth of July.

As they said in Season 1, that was the worst first shift, but I can definitely see how that day is gonna suuuuck as a doctor.

Also glad to see most/all of the season 1 cast returning.

If you watched Sonic 1 & Sonic 2, it's a no brainer to watch Sonic 3. I think Jim Carrey is the best part of all three films.

Additionally, the story loosely follows the 3D Sonic games storylines, so if you grew up with those games it's fun to see them come to live action.

If you have no attachment to Sonic or his games, you'll still enjoy some parts, like Jim Carrey, but otherwise you've just got to accept the premise and be fine with whatever is happening.

If your main draw is Keanu, I mean he's in the film, but he's a talking hedgehog so... You know... Set expectations.

Bob Uecker brought the Brewers to life for generations of fans. And that was just the start of a second career in entertainment that reached far beyond the ballpark.

Uecker, the backup catcher turned Hollywood star, and the legendary radio voice of his hometown team for more than five decades, has died. He was 90.
