Hi everyone,

I’m wondering if it’s allowed (or maybe even encouraged?) to post private fundraising campaigns on Lemmy — for example, for victims of war, humanitarian aid, or people facing serious hardship.

Are there any specific communities where this kind of post is welcome? Or is this generally discouraged on Lemmy?

Just to clarify: I’m referring to legitimate campaigns, shared with full transparency and proof if needed — definitely not spam or scams.

Thanks a lot for any guidance! 🙏

The !mutual_aid@hexbear.net community seems similar to what you're asking for. I'm not sure if there are more similar comms on other instances but that's just the one I know of.

LW is defederated from HB so OP would need to create a new account to post there.

OP, be careful if you decide to go down that route. Hexbear is pretty toxic, imo.
