I don't want to complain too much since in all honesty this isn't even remotely a serious enough topic. As I've gotten more and more educated in ML and adjascent knowledge, I've tried explaining to people my views, why they make sense and how they apply to the urrent world we live in. I push back when people claim outrageous things and I get mocked in return and called a fool. Not being taken serious is harder than I thought and I knew this would happen kind of, but never expected for people, family, friends to actively not take any of this seriously. Should I just accept that ML views are so radical that people don't even want to hear them? Or should I push forward?
EDIT: Thank you everyone for your comments, it's gotten clear to me that I was too aggressive and wasn't using the right approach when talking about certain things, I auto assumed the other person would receive what I'm talking about with open arms which was the wrong course of action. Will adjust my framing and discussion to meet the person halfway next time.
Perhaps I can suggest you a reading on Cadre Policy, by Chen Yun
Also here's an inspiring story on why you shouldn't give up on people so easily I would like to highight:
My own two cents: Remember that Marxism-Leninism is based on Materialism. I'm sorry to sound like a broken record, but like, when you're pitching it to someone don't forget to remember not just collective benefits, but how would those benefits serve the person you're talking to, how would they make their life better.
There's an old running joke how you can explain communism in great detail and people will think "Heck yeah, that's pretty cool" until you mention what it is, by name, and then they will gasp so imo. you should focus on getting people on your side and then you can use the big words once you have them interested.
This is an excellent post, and reminds me of when I asked here, of how did Che and Fidel get wealthy donors to finance the revolution, and was basically told they didn't say they were fighting for communism at the time.
Not sure how applicable guidelines for CPC criticism are within the free-floating party boy atmosphere these western conversations reside in...
Do you yourself have a plan in mind you're trying to accomplish and what results are you expecting? Judging by how you've been acting in this comment section it appears you might be having an emotional outburst and you've resorted to throwing a temper tantrum with a twist of a defeating attitude mixed in.
I'm not saying you're wrong about the free-floating atmosphere, you're not contributing anything to changing it however. You yourself seem to be so disconnected from reality you're judging the entire "Western World" by what you see on the internet.
Why can't you recommend someone to, instead of using deception for fun, why can't they pretend to be a lib to secure funds for something positive.
When you start telling people to give up you should really take a good look at your reflection.
