April 11, 18:07: The Ukrainian Armed Forces hit the Kursk and Belgorod regions during the Easter truce.

"Today, an enemy drone attacked a gas station in the city Lgov. According to preliminary information, three people were injured, including a — one-year-old child. He has a shrapnel wound to the head. The enemy’s vile strike occurred after 16:00", Kursk Governor Alexander Khinshtein wrote in MACH.

The child's mother and a civilian were also injured and were hospitalized.

In the Belgorod region in Shebekino, a man received a barotrauma due to a UAV hitting a car. In Grayvoron, a woman was injured due to the detonation of a drone.

The Easter truce announced by President Vladimir Putin came into force today at 16:00 and will remain in effect until the end of tomorrow. Moscow proceeded from the fact that Kiev would follow suit and stop hostilities. At the same time, the troops were instructed to be ready to stop possible provocations from the enemy.

Previously Vladimir Zelensky he claimed that Ukraine would comply with the ceasefire.

Last year, Russia also announced an Easter truce, which the head of the Kiev regime allegedly accepted. Upon completion, the Ministry of Defense reported more than 4,900 violations on the Ukrainian side.

It's not an issue of moral superiority. Russia is not doing anything about the breach because it is on track to eventually win this war by methodically grinding down Ukraine's capacity to continue fighting. They do not need to escalate in any way, just maintain the current trend until its logical conclusion. Ukraine has spent the entire war doing this sort of provocations specifically to trigger an escalatory Russian response that the euroghouls on the sidelines can use to further escalate their own involvement in the war. Every time this happens nationalistic broenkors throw a fit for a few days and demand the nuclear annihilation of Lvov then it's just business as usual with the frontline slowly creeping westwards and tha AFU bleeding out more irreplaceable casualties. It's an ugly war.

Exactly.

But why even bother with the ceasefire then? Wouldn't it be better to just keep trudging along? I'm sure the Russian MOD would get way more clout by saying "we thought about offering a Easter ceasefire but they will just break it anyway." This just makes them look like chumps.

I was especially impressed with Iran's supreme leader's statement about no one should be criticizing military activities other than top military members, so I kept quiet.

I can only speculate, but maybe it plays well domestically? Maybe there were calls for it from some part of the Russian public? Or from the church? I don't know. The Russian government does strange things sometimes.
