I VPN out to Switzerland but have Google blocked and Apple devices, well, know my location so I’m never sure if it’s based the IP address or Location Services.

That’s pretty jarring that you’re seeing the fascist name be it in parenthesis or otherwise especially when it’s got nothing to do with your politics.
