There is a solution to this problem but you have to separate those 2 statements. Raise taxes on ALL those data centers that are eating up their water and raising the prices on all their electricity usage. Texans probably don't like paying for those free loading businesses. If they don't pay their fair share then they can leave.
You know look after the WORKING CLASS and not let the news confuse you into thinking that raising taxes on businesses make it HARDER for the working class. Or is somehow hurting them. Maybe learn more about history.
Business always lie and tell their workers to vote against their own interests because the businesses would have to pay more taxes. They say that's why we can't give you a raise. They ain't giving it anyway. They are using the roads and not paying taxes to fix them. Texans are. Texans won't like that, but wait that's what is happening.
Maybe coming at this from a different angle might work in Texas. Idk. I hope Talarico can connect better than others tried.
Overall the problem is where the tax money goes. I think every party can agree with that. If you tax people for one thing then it should go to cover that thing, like roads or electricity or whatever. If you tax all these data center and then move the money into a fund to no bid contract for your buddy then we still have the same problems. There needs to be some sort of public over site on where the taxes actually go instead of a pot of money that gets abused. Politicians have mentioned it before. It isn't new.
Talarico is from Texas. He better know how Texans feel about raising taxes. Make a mistake and he will lose and with it the chance for Democrats to gain control of the Senate and stop Trump's agenda.
