Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Who do you think is rolling out the fascism?

[–] gwl@lemmy.blahaj.zone -1 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Are you trying to say gay people are bad?

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 2 points 9 hours ago

Not at all. Just hateful pieces of shit fascists - some of them happen to be gay, though

[–] ExtremeDullard@piefed.social 59 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (2 children)

The Heritage Foundation, billionaires / trillionaires and their white nationalist puppets - chief of which is the orange stain currently soiling the White House.

If some of them are closeted gays is probably totally irrelevant.

If some of them are closeted gays is probably totally irrelevant.

That’s a whole point though: it isn’t irrelevant at all. It’s their strongest motivator for being such hateful, hypocritical cunts.

[–] jerkface@lemmy.ca 13 points 2 days ago

C'mon. Fascist architects don't give a fuck either way about the people they demonize. They don't pick people because they have a personal issue with them, they pick them because they best fill the role a fascist needs of them.

[–] Racoonwithbenefits@lemmy.zip 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Hm i thought it was the racism, hence ice is dragging people out of their cars etc if they have black hair

[–] homes@piefed.world 5 points 2 days ago

It can be more than one thing

[–] rockSlayer@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I do not give a fuck about their repressed emotions. No one should. What matters is their actions. Their actions are killing queer people. It does not matter if those actions reflect self-hatred, because they aren't the ones being killed.

[–] angstylittlecatboy@reddthat.com 1 points 11 hours ago* (last edited 9 hours ago)

It matters because they actively aim to create more shame and repression to increase their ranks.

[–] BeMoreCareful@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

I mean. I guess that makes sense. There is a bit of this: women make the babies, is a necessary evil.

I guess the paedophilia would make sense too. If you have to deal with a women the smaller and less knowledgeable the better.

This is distressing.

[–] Garbagio@lemmy.zip -1 points 2 days ago

You got a source for that, chief?

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 9 points 2 days ago

Except they hurt the rest of the community. See my reply below. I didn't mean to say "it's only the gays"

[–] uberdroog@lemmy.world 16 points 2 days ago (1 children)

There's a big undeground homosexual population. Des Moines, Iowa, For an example. Look at the soil around Des Moines, Stuart. You can't build on it; you can't grow anything in it. The government Says it's due to poor farming. But I know what's really going on, Stuart. I know it's the queers. They're in it with the aliens. They're building landing strips for gay Martians, I swear to God

[–] usernameless@piefed.social 2 points 2 days ago

You know what, Stuart? I like you. You're not like the other people, here in the trailer park

[–] floofloof@lemmy.ca 6 points 2 days ago (1 children)

It's clearly the gays. No question about it.

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 11 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I was thinking the hateful closeted hypocrites, the Epstein class, and the Nazis but certainly not all gays.

[–] Trampampoline@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

This entire argument has the potential to blow up into absolute chaos.

It's beautiful.
