A bumblebee queen seems to have taken an interest in a vacant bird house on my balcony. Which is a great sight to see. For two years I have been spending a lot of effort to create a place for insect wildlife on my balcony by planting native plants, making shelter, etc. It has turned an ugly city balcony into a place where insects actually visits. (Bumble)bees, solitary wasps, spiders, beetles and other critters have found their way to my balcony last year and this year I have even more beneficial plants, so I can't wait to see what happens.

I'm so sick of business executives and middle managers. I have to work with many of these people and it drives me insane. Their jobs consist of saying things like, "we need to monitor this closely", that's basically their whole job.

Like no shit I'm going to monitor this, that's all I get paid to do.

I've been having succeess using a talking point recently towards the anti-Trump liberals. It is very simple but it breaks their brain, it is just reminding them that the dozens of military bases surrounding Iran weren't built in this administration but have been built by both parties throughout the years. It is a clear indication that current administration warmongering is a bipartisan policy, the infrastructure for the war has been there for years.

I'm genuinely beginning to fear that the US and Israel choose the nuclear option to maintain their empire. I can't think of anything rgat would stop them besides fear of Russian retaliation sparked from fear.

I really fukcing wish Iran developed a nuclear weapon like the DPRK, because I'm sick to my stomach worried about this.

Not that it needs to be said but I commend Iran for making the US-israel aggression the whole world's problem by impeding the free flow of fossil fuel. If the world wants to sit by as it happens, at least they will have to actually feel uncomfortable rather than just saying that they feel so.

Coasting through work on the bare minimal effort required to do so as I can't be arsed to have even one cortisol spike during my last weeks. It feels good to be able to speak freely because what are they going to do? Fire me? Lol.

I don't use ai a lot, for basically anything, but honestly it's a really great search tool. All the search engines nowadays are either filled with ads or kinds just suck, so being able to go to deepseek and be like "hey there was this game that had xyz what was that?" And get an answer is really nice.

Still doesn't work all the time, had to ask around the internet to find Empire of the Fading Suns, but it's still helpful

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this - do people think Netanyahu might actually be dead? I didn't put any credence in it at all at first but the longer time goes on and we don't see him the more suspicious I get. I have a friend that seems to be falling down this self help, business, start up world bullshit thinking that her company will be different than others. "I will create 1000s of jobs" she says, jesus... No amount of talking could get her away from the thinking "I want to have so much money no one tells me what to do". Kind of just gave up and switched the conversation at that point.

Then on the other side I met someone who lives at home, doesn't have a job and refuses to have one, yet has so many comments on how things should be run. Is there a definition for this type of person?

Every once in a while, I have the thought of starting a substack. But I don't know what I would put on it with any kind of consistency. My tendency in the past with blog-like things has been to make one, maybe publish one post, and then promptly forget about it.

Part of what holds me back these days is I don't want to be a position where I feel like I'm forcing analysis that I can't actually back up well. And part of it's my longstanding tension between tendencies toward crafts that relate to having an audience and the immediate urge to pull back when I am actually seen. So I guess posting the occasional thread on the grad when I have the itch is a satisfying enough between place for now, since it's more casual but I'm also not screaming into the void.
