Can't even refund it if you play black desert and claimed the pre order bonus else you will lose like 30+ billion silver as a punishment. Which ranges from 30 to 80 hours of grinding.

Absolutely funny as fuck. Get fucked any dipshit that pre ordered this. STOP PRE ORDERING GAMES. Anyone who pre orders anything is a disgrace and an insult to the memory of total biscuit.

Rest in peace Totalbiscuit. If his cancer didn't kill him then, the industry's cancer would

And he would've fight it to the bitter end regardless.

On the bright side, I'm sure he would've been ecstatic to see the quality out of indie devs and sing them praises to high heaven

RIP TotalBiscuit, but what does pre-orders have to do with him? Did he in particular criticise pre-orders?

[–] JayGray91@piefed.social 4 points 5 days ago

If I recall correctly, yes he did.

The fact people arne't just waiting a couple of weeks for the discount bin really is silly.

[–] TALL421@lemmy.world 23 points 5 days ago

BUT BUT BUT. IF I DON'T PLAY IT NOW AND GET TO BE PART OF THE CONVERSATION ON SOCIAL MEDIA THEN WHO AM I?

[–] the_riviera_kid@lemmy.world 18 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Never even heard of it but now I know I wont be checking it out anyway.

Guess I know what I won't be playing!

Guess this goes on my patient gamer list.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck, I hate DRM!

Didn't this.end up being asingleplayer game? Why the hell would it need anticheat?

Crimson Desert is using Denuvo's Anti-Tamper but Denuvo does also make their own kernel level Anti-Cheat. The latest Tribes game used it which upset my group of gamers.

God. Fucking. Dammit. I was looking forward to this.

At least I didn’t preorder. Never preorder.

Why would the company known for having one of the largest Create-A-Waifu mmorpgs make a game where you're just some dude.

[–] Concave1142@lemmy.world 5 points 5 days ago

I'm glad I only heard about this game last week and thought it looked worth a play through. They just saved me some money!

[–] ILikeBoobies@lemmy.ca 2 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Better than after release.

[–] bagodogs@sh.itjust.works 3 points 4 days ago

Debatable. They're fucking over paying customers either way, but if it were added post release, the DRM-free version would remain.

I saw ads for this game on FB that were so over hyped it gave me the ick.

Generally speaking, if you are getting an ad for a game on any platform not specifically designed for games, not search for my you, or not owned by the gaming company itself, be very sceptical.

If they are blowing budget on widespread fancy ads, chances are they are doing a bait and switch.

At least that’s my take.

Hopefully it will not stay too long. I assume a year. Does anyone have a list or clue how long Denuvo is usually active in games? I often read how it got removed after some time.
