Just picked up TMNT: Splintered Fate on sale. Having a blast with it on the Steam Deck

Just played Ori and the Blind Forest (and holy shit, emotional damage right in the prologue), and now I'm playing the sequel. No idea why I ignored those games for so long.

I got mine for some side scrollers too, adding ori now

The Messenger is also good if you haven't tried that one.

Been playing both the demo and the play test for Mandragora. Loving it so far.

The main new game I've started recently is Split Fiction, which is the new coop game from the devs of "It Takes Two". I highly recommend it if you have a coop partner, the game is delightful and you only need one copy for two people.

Some other games I've played recently: Finally finished Metaphor Refantazio. I had to take a break from it after about 100 hours because (which is pretty normal for me with long games), but I just came back and finished it. Really great game, highly recommend it on Deck. Also been playing Lost Judgement, which is a Yakuza style game but with a detective focus. Finally I've been playing Rift of the Necrodancer, which is a lot of fun but hurts my brain.

Also playing Split Fiction, it's awesome and runs great on the deck. Playing it on the couch with my wife

Do you each have your own deck? Or how do you play it on the deck?

[–] Fubarberry@sopuli.xyz 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

It has split screen, so we play docked on a TV.

It does have online play too though, there's a free friend's pass that you can use for two people to play online with one copy. However even in online play you'll be playing split screen, because it's often important to be able to see the other player's screen.

Docked on a TV makes sense! And interesting about the free online play!

I wanted to play Star Wars the force unleashed 1. i got it through prime gaming a couple years ago i think. i installed it through heroic games launcher. but it loads to a black screen with audio on game mode. no other sounds played, like menu sounds when you use d-pad or the thumb sticks. but when i tried in desktop mode it loaded up fine. a bit bummed out about it not working.

Chorus: Arcadey space combat. Gameplay is ok so far, but not a fan of the weird mystical voice over they've got going on for the MC.

Lego Star Wars Complete (not Skywalker): Fun and silly. Good 2 player game.

Currently playing No Man's Sky again. Great on the Deck!

The Firaxis Xcom reboot. Been doing retro a lot, a somewhat modern game is fun for a change and as a fan of the original this has been quite enjoyable.

Dave the diver nd a bit of no man's sky

After I really enjoyed “The Outer Worlds” on my Switch, the first games I’m playing on my (only recently bought) Steam Deck are the Fallout FPS games. Finished Fallout 3 last week and am currently enjoying New Vegas.

[–] Fubarberry@sopuli.xyz 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

If you likes Outer Wilds, you should also try playing the Forgotten City sometime.

There are a couple other good knowledge progression games, although they're not as close to the formula as Forgotten City is. Both the Witness and Return of the Obra Dinn have some overlap with it.

[–] HonkBonk@lemm.ee 1 points 2 months ago

Forgotten City looks right up my alley, thanks for the rec!

Currently alternating between Half-Life 2 ~~(I swear I’m actually gonna finish it this time)~~ (yeah, I can't bring myself to finish HL2) and Chrono Trigger (I swear I’m actually gonna finish it this time).

[–] thermal_shock@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

I never played Chrono, but secret of mana on SNES is an all time favorite.

I am completing snowrunner... Will take a while

Been playing Witcher 3 for five weeks now, am running around in Skellige for a little while. Recon I have a few more weeks with it.

Also tried some demos: Fishing Paradise, Loddlenaut, Nubby's Number Factory and Squirreled Away. Wishlisted Nubby, not sure the others are for me.

[–] Water_Melon_boy@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Witcher 3 is such a long experience. Currently on the Blood and Wine DLC. Picking it up, clearing a side quest or two and then put the console back to sleep is such a good way to kill time.

[–] blomvik@sopuli.xyz 1 points 1 month ago

It's long, but also incredibly easy to pick up and play. I think I mostly rushed through Blood and Wine last time, don't know how much I will play this time. Will probably reach Toussaint this weekend.
