Enough Musk Spam

448 users here now

For those that have had enough of the Elon Musk worship online.

No flaming, baiting, etc. This community is intended for those opposed to the influx of Elon Musk-related advertising online. Coming here to defend Musk or his companies will not get you banned, but it likely will result in downvotes. Please use the reporting feature if you see a rule violation.

Opinions from all sides of the political spectrum are welcome here. However, we kindly ask that off-topic political discussion be kept to a minimum, so as to focus on the goal of this sub. This community is minimally moderated, so discussion and the power of upvotes/downvotes are allowed, provided lemmy.world rules are not broken.

Post links to instances of obvious Elon Musk fanboy brigading in default subreddits, lemmy/kbin communities/instances, astroturfing from Tesla/SpaceX/etc., or any articles critical of Musk, his ideas, unrealistic promises and timelines, or the working conditions at his companies.

Tesla-specific discussion can be posted here as well as our sister community /c/RealTesla.

Imagine thinking being that rich is a good thing rather than a catastrophic systemic failure.

[–] minorkeys@sh.itjust.works 15 points 2 weeks ago

They don't care about the world so it's pretty easy. Musk thinks we live in a simulation, he's crazy.

[–] phneutral@feddit.org 5 points 2 weeks ago

Wearing a shirt stating „Rethink systems“. Satire is dead.

Nah Elon needs to be skinned alive while heavily medicated so he doesn't die untill we're done.

[–] PhoenixDog@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Can we just corner him somewhere and throw bricks? I think that would be fulfilling.

They need to be small or a bit softer than a standard brick so we can throat ALOT of them, it can't be quick.

[–] pulsey@feddit.org 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

just send him to Mars and livestream everything

Gotta be the moon, if we ship him to Mars even if he dies he still gets the satisfaction of fulfilling his goal.

[–] NOPper@lemmy.dbzer0.com 52 points 2 weeks ago

Holy shit...this is the cringiest thing I've seen all day

[–] wirebeads@lemmy.ca 45 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

Doesn’t matter how much money this loser has. He had no friends and he has no joy in life. Even Epstein, one of the worst most vile people on the planet wanted absolutely nothing to do with Musk. You have to suck pretty badly to have the leader of the worlds biggest pedophile ring want nothing to do with you.

He’ll die, alone.

[–] jtrek@startrek.website 18 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

He’ll die, alone.

Maybe he'll die with a bunch of other billionaires in like a plane crash or something. Gotta stay optimistic

[–] TachyonTele@piefed.social 4 points 2 weeks ago

Like a plane of filthy rich La Bambas

[–] Mirshe@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago

Every time I hear about a solar flare now, I kind of hope for a repeat of the Carrington Event.

[–] T00l_shed@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago

Most people will never respect him either, regardless of how much money he has.

[–] Avicenna@programming.dev 1 points 2 weeks ago

He hires players to play online games in his place so that he can impress the geek crowd that he thinks he is a part of, the crowd which strongly despises him. Can't get any sadder than this.

[–] mrmisses@lemmy.world 23 points 2 weeks ago

There should be such a large target on musk's back that he never leaves the house

[–] joeljoelle@piefed.blahaj.zone 21 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (1 children)

only rich folks can wear a shirt that says rethink systems like it's some cutting edge brand and not something people have been doing for millions of years

[–] panda_abyss@lemmy.ca 12 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

It just needs a picture of Marx.

[–] joeljoelle@piefed.blahaj.zone 8 points 2 weeks ago

now that's rethinking

[–] rounding_error@lemmy.today 14 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Did he really deepfake himself into a photo of Elon musk and Marilyn Monroe as if this man even knows he exists?

[–] Virtvirt588@lemmy.world 7 points 2 weeks ago

Thats what is absurd about it. It goes to say that only lunatics use linkedin with bootlicking shit like this

[–] OrteilGenou@lemmy.world 13 points 2 weeks ago

*trillionaire

Funny that anyone would celebrate the greatest possible example of what a douchey cunt they are

[–] Windex007@lemmy.world 8 points 2 weeks ago

I have an incredible imagination. I'm ceaselessly shocked at how bad the average imagination is.

I can not imagine being that much of a loser.

[–] TankovayaDiviziya@lemmy.world 8 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

I think there is a psychology to it. Some people like to be number 2 to a top dog.

[–] PhoenixDog@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

It's the same reason women support the patriarchy. Better to be second place than anything else.

Plenty of women benefit from the patriarchy. They don't care how it affects other women, just how it affects them individually.

And they'll never think they'll be the ones cast away at first glance when it comes for her. It'll never happen to them.

[–] Zink@programming.dev 2 points 2 weeks ago

I think it's also the tribal part of our brains that make it feel good to be on the winning side, even if you aren't contributing to the victory.

Rockafeller's 1bil is the equivalent of 30bil now so Elon is > 33x richer than he was. We need to tax stock bonuses and payments. You get paid in stock, it's income taxed at the top rate as either cash value at time of issuance or the equivalent % in stock to the government to be sold over the next 12 months. Loans backed by stocks or non primary residences should be taxed as capitol gains as well. I'm sure considerations for running it through a company need to be addressed to close some loopholes.

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 7 points 2 weeks ago

Dances while looking way better than he ever could IRL, with a woman way hotter than would ever touch him without a hefty cash payment. At least 5 figures, probably 6.

[–] magnetosphere@fedia.io 6 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Does that woman even exist, or is she AI slop? I’m betting on slop.

[–] Jankatarch@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

Apparently it's Marilyn Monroe?

[–] Jankatarch@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (1 children)

Stupid dick-race aside, I am curious how much this difference is when adjusted for inflation.

Also 172 countries sounds wrong.

[–] SkunkWorkz@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

Because it is wrong. GDP and total wealth are two different things.

[–] SkunkWorkz@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago

lol he shipped himself with Elon. Fucking pathetic. Remember it’s because of pathetic guys like this chud why Elon’s share of Space X is worth so much. It’s just millions of guys going “Notice me senpai” by buying the shares. And of course institutional investors know these guys who are into Musk findom gooning exist so they just ride the wave which puts even more upward pressure on the stock price.

Financial obesity is an existential threat to any society that tolerates it, and needs to cease being celebrated, rewarded, and positioned as an aspirational goal.

Corporations are the only ‘persons’ which should be subjected to capital punishment, but trillionaires should be forced to transition into billionaires, and billionaires should be euthanised through taxation.
