I do my best to seed for as long as I can, but sometimes no one picks up...
I keep downloading rare shit and no one else seems to want it.
Even the popular stuff seems to only upload for a day or so.
Also, I think deluge only wants to seed five things at a time then puts everything else as “queued.”
Keep seeding the rare shit please.
I know people go on about ratios and yadayada, but the popular stuff will always have seeders, seeding popular stuff is just helping people download quicker.
Seeding the rare shit means that torrent continues to exist.
So much stuff has been lost forever and a large part of that is torrents no longer having seeders.
If you were able to download the rare shit, that means somebody else was nice enough to keep seeding it. Please carry it forward.

You are in a fortunate position - you can make stuff available (this is nice and generous) while hardly having to upload anything. Consider joining a private tracker that gives you credit for TIME seeded, not Gigabytes of seeded material. Then just keep the stuff you download in the download folder for a long time before moving it/deleting it.
There's trackers that do that? Which ones? I've avoided private trackers for specifically this reason.
Nice. In my experience you'll get a few hits a year, but enough rare torrents and you'll be seeding almost continuously
You can probably set deluge settings for more than 5 torrent queued. At least qBittorent have this kind of setting.
One of the reasons I don't seed back is that I can't - I can't seem to figure out how to configure correctly despite setting all stuff about ports and connections I can on qbt. One of the problem is that, for privacy reasons, I'm obvs not using my own infra but rather hooking into someone else's network, so there's not much really I can change.
And the other reason is that I tend to rename, change and repack most of the stuff I download (series, games, etc) for size and convenience. Especially, I tend to downscale 1K or 2K movies down to 540p or 720p and I tend to rename and reshuffle files across folders, so that pretty much renders the storage as invalid for seeding the same torrent (unless anyone knows a trick I don't).
Port forwarding helps connect to peers but it's not strictly necessary.
As for organization and removing, symbolic links could work but if port forwarding is over your head, filesystem nuances might also not mean much to you.
My advice would be to focus on what you can do easily. Can you copy the files instead of moving, at least for a few days, or until the seed ratio has passed 1.0 or 2.0? If you can't do it for everything, can you at least do it for the files with lower numbers of seeders?

I can do symlinks. Works when I can, so I might try keeping the original files one day or two, but that really depends on if the files are even being served (see below), else it's much more important to me to convert the files to a format more suitable for me in terms of all of storage, compatibility, consumption, etc.
In terms of networking it's less "its over my head" and more "I'm not using my own connection so it's not like I have access to the modem to change things". As much as I have tried different configurations in qbittorrent, torrents rarely seem to seed and when they do it's only for brief periods of time (nowhere near enough to 1:1 it unless you are seeding, like, the Marvel Movie Of The Day).
I also don't have ports forwarded. You can still connect to some leechers, it just takes longer to reach 1:1 ratio (months).
Imo for torrents that have hundreds of seeders I wouldn't worry. But for torrents that only have a few seeders, just use symlinks or copy the files, and keep the originals seeding.
Don't worry about it. Just do what you can.
Just for reorganization, you could use links instead of actually moving the files. That's how radarr, etc. do it.

After you repackaged and renamed and shuffled stuff around, you can create torrents out of those end results and seed them. There is a "create torrent" button in qbittorrent that you can use to create them :). I do the same thing. I'm OCD and like shit to look neat and organized. So I name everything I download. So, I either download and let the seed run for a while before modifying the files, or modify then create torrents and seed them. I try what I can

I typically hard link the file, that gives you the option to rename/move/organize as you see fit. If you need to reencode or splice that breaks the link, but for just organization it works great.
The current seeder / leecher ratio on Big Bang Theory, this is one of the worst I've seen - I've dropped my seed limit from 10 to 7.5 because this is just poor form
