IronFox is Firefox ESR-based, completely de-Googled, has zero telemetry, and comes pre-hardened for privacy.

IronFox is a fork of Divested Computing Group's Mull Browser, based on Mozilla Firefox. Our goal is to continue the legacy of Mull by providing a free and open source, privacy and security-oriented web browser for daily use.

Version IronFox v140.0.4 released, .apk available for download here.

More discussion about the browser here.

~~Unfortunately, not available in FDroid yet.~~

There is no official Firefox ESR (Extended Support Release) version for Android. The releases itself say they are based on the most recent stable releases.

Where did you get they're "ESR-based" from?

This is the peak Firefox forks for android privacy/security

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think we are still waiting for true tab process separation.

I love IronFox and use it alongside Vanadium. When Fission is confirmed I will bump IronFox back up to most browsing - vastly prefer Gecko browsers as a user but concerned about tab isolation and tracking.

iIRC IronFox has Fission already but there was a dangling question regarding an inability to still isolate processes.

This isn't on the IronFox devs either - it really needs to be fixed upstream by Mozilla

They seem to hate F-droid for some reason. There are also many red flags that make me very suspicious

I wouldn't use it personally

They are blatantly promoting Accrescent

Also they don't seem to see foss as much of a priority.

Are they where this Accrescent thing came from? I saw someone in another group talking it up, but I haven't been able to find out much about it except that it's yet another app store. The IronFox project page didn't mention it when I read it before.

Google play alternative with proprietary apps and no regard to foss or privacy
