If you're worried that someone not getting the peace prize will have retaliation from that person and the country they lead, then they really don't deserve the peace prize.

One could argue that the damage was done with Kissinger. And giving it to Obama for getting elected and not being Bush didn’t increase its gravitas either. Trump getting it would be a farce, but not unprecedented.
