Finally, the reveal! They took their time getting to it this episode. I feel like the pacing has been very slow for the past couple episodes. I mean, it's certainly better than if they rushed through things, so I won't complain. That said, I do want to go back into the manga and see how many chapters they're doing per episode. Still very happy with this adaptation.

Interesting how they used the lighthearted side-story to prevent complete tonal whiplash with the practically denpa song ED.
Also, Fairouz Ai can really draw, wow.

I feel like the animation quality significantly increased this episode. I can get behind the idea that the static crowds and underwater scenes were done that way to show Hinako's isolation and depression, but stylistically they left me feeling like jumping into the sea. It would be nice to see the animation continue along this path.
